Is there a subscription?
No. You buy the sensor once — the PlantSense Connect app, alerts, and dashboard are free. No monthly fees, ever.
Do I need the app?
Readings, charts, and alerts live in the free iOS app (coming soon to the App Store) and the web dashboard at app.myplantsense.com — Android is on the way. If you run Home Assistant, the sensor also works there natively — no cloud required.
Indoors or outdoors?
Both. Kitchen herbs, houseplants, raised beds — anywhere with 2.4 GHz WiFi coverage.
